“We love coming to El Cortez for lunch. I had the carne asada fajitas today, and was only disappointed by the fact that it has much less carne than it used to, and it now carries a hidden extra $2 charge for the carne (not listed on the menu). Other than that - I would not recommend the iced tea, but the food is altogether pretty tasty.”

“I came here with friends for a birthday celebration and we sat at the bar stools. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious and a great start to the meal. The food was good, decent, not mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying, and the service was excellent. The vibe is chill and old-school, giving off a relaxed, nostalgic feel that many will enjoy. El Cortez offers good, affordable Mexican food compared to other places in the area, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the 3-item combo, which included a hard-shell taco, two soft tacos, rice, beans, and chips, all for $20. That’s a fantastic price for the amount of food. My friends ordered the enchiladas, and my partner enjoyed a chimichanga for around $16.”

“⭐️ Zero stars if I could! We ordered the spicy shrimp and shrimp cocktail, and they only gave us 4 shrimp in each order. It was a complete rip-off! For the prices they charge, it is definitely not worth it. We were still hungry after eating there and had to go somewhere else to get more food. The portions were ridiculous for the price. We will never come back. Terrible place and terrible service.”
