“At first glance, Sandbar Cocina seemingly wanted to differentiate itself amidst a cluster of sports bars and super casual beach diners packed onto Main Street downtown Huntington Beach. Goodness knows it's needed. There are a couple romantic cubbies here with soft lighting and beachy tones and decor suggesting that was the intent. It's pretty. A little more upscale. Then the TVs from every angle take over and it's like you're at any any other sports bar. With slightly better than sports bar food, that smelled great, but lacked presentation pizazz. I gave it 3 for atmospheric confusion. We didn't see much of our server. I never got asked if I wanted a cocktail after asking for time to look at the menu. Scarcity isn't all bad though, but I would have ordered a drink if asked again.”
