“Wow, five stars all-around! This place really nailed it yesterday! We stopped in after an afternoon of sailing for some good food and were not disappointed! I had a double OG smashburger and an order of fries. Friends had other burgers, disco fries, and a chicken sandwich, and everything was on point. Service was fast, great, and friendly. Shop is quaint, but big enough that it's not a fight to get a table for four. Really enjoyed the burger, which had house-made sauce and (i believe) house-made pickles! Beef was quality, and had a nice char, though it was a bit thick to really call it a smash, and lacked the crispy, crusty edges that you'd expect with a smashburger. A rose by any other name, etc.! I'm not complaining! :) And the prices are excellent! half-pound burger, big bag of fries, and an excellent espresso-tonic for under $30 with tip! (May '26). While everything was very good, I have to call out the fries as being an unexpected and exceptional discovery. I'm a fiend for good french fries, and have scoured the far reaches of Europe's storied frite shops in search of the best fries on the planet, even trying to duplicate them myself. This place is quietly making fries that rival anything I found in my quest that included more than 25 frite shops in the Netherlands and Belgium. Diner Noche fries them in beef fat, as many vendors do in Belgium, but the flavor is pretty mild compared to the really beefy flavor of the fries at some of the places in Belgium. I can't recommend them enough! I'd love to see what they could do with peanut oil, which i prefer to animal fat when it comes to fries, but I'm not gonna complain. They were exceptional. Crisp, fresh, potato-y, not greasy, salted perfectly...i can't rave enough. Try them! EDIT - I went back a week later with wild anticipation to get the same meal again! While the burger was excellent, I'm sad to report that most of the magic was gone from the fries! Now, fries are a fickle thing...and it could just have been that they hadn't just come from the fryer and had some time to sit and sog, but they were just "good." Not "the best ever" as they were a week earlier. I'll still be back, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and my expectations a little lower for the fries!”
