“I live in California and have always wanted to come here. 25+ years and finally made it. Holy crap what a disappointment. Got all the main recommended things to order. They're very proud of their fried chicken recipe that hasn't changed since the 30s. Do you know what has changed since the thirties... seasoning lol. Practically nothing had it Fry on chicken was pretty good but batter and chicken bland as hell. My piece wasn't dry but wife said hers was Mashed potatoes, country gravy, cabbage and ham. No seasoning at all. Potatoes had terrible texture as well. Rhubarb side was any interesting choice but seemed out of place. They kind of remind me of the baked apple at Cracker Barrel especially since the rest of the food reminded me of cracker barrel as well.... which is not good lol The good The restaurant itself is beautiful. Parking is a little crazy but it's Knotts so whatever. The rolls and fruit jam and the creamy chicken noodle are all excellent Same with the boysenberry pie We didn't want ice cream with the pie and they dont have whipped cream which is odd I would take out order the pie and soup and skip the rest. Unless, of course, you think Cracker Barrel food is top tier. Side note. Country gravy is called pepper gravy a lot of places.... maybe adding ANY pepper would help”

“The staff were friendly and service was great. I am just entirely disappointed in the food. I wanted to try their famous fried Chicken but it came out very dry and salty. People I came with also tried the fried chicken hoping maybe I just had a bad chicken and they were disappointed as well. Everything else we ordered was great but the "famous fried chicken" was not really noteworthy.”
