“This used to be one of my absolute favorite spots, I went to school across the street a decade ago. I’ve enjoyed coming back multiple times over the years. Tonight we went in and they let us know that they were remodeling a new tea house, but the service and the quality was so abysmal they should just be closed already. The staff was rude. They didn’t even bother cooking the potato twist it was so soggy we had to throw it away when we got home. The drinks were awful, and the two staff working were too busy focusing on hanging out with their friends who came in to just hang out to get our order done in a timely manner. We went across the street to Wushiland where the service was fast and friendly, drinks were made well and the facility was clean and neat. None of that can be said for Lollicup Irvine.”

“They are back open! But not the same Lollicup menu locals know and love. The menu is dialed down significantly. Think 5 drink options instead of 50. They are working through renovations now through the end of the year. Chicken tastes 80% the same but they’ve added fried basil so that changes the taste some (personally I like this change—I’ve wanted fried basil in their chicken for a long time). They still offer spice levels and it’s the same! It’s still a 12/10 though. Sadly no potato twists right now but they said they’re hoping to get it available soon. Something about waiting for a machine + training staff. If you’re expecting the same menu and flavor, lower those expectations now. View it as a new place, I think I overheard them say they are Lollicup for now, but that sounds like they won’t keep the name for long. I’ll come back for the chicken if they never change it.”
