“I have been a patient of Dr. Rubinstein for over five years now. I had an appointment to be referred to a cardiologist. A few minutes after my appointment, a member of the staff called to confirm the details of my referral and reassured I would receive the referral by latest the next business day. A little after my appointment, the same day via text, the office let me know my insurance had randomly switched my PCP to someone I did not know, and I needed to contact my insurance, and as soon as I did to let them know so they can submit my referral. I contacted my insurance immediately, my insurance then tried to contact Dr. Rita's office to confirm it is ok if they switch me back over and the office said no they are not taking any new OR old patients with my insurance. This was so confusing as Dr. Rita's office were the ones that told me to contact my insurance to switch back my PCP and I had an appointment that same day. I texted the office for further clarification. They called me to let me know they were being audited by my insurance and that is why they cannot see me. When I asked why I was not told of this before my appointment that day or at any point and they said because they just found out. The staff then hung up with no form of apology or remorse. Super frustrating experience.”
