“There wasn’t Gelato. It was thrifty’s ice cream. False advertising.”

“We had a simple dream: churros. Not a lofty ambition. Not a Michelin-star pilgrimage. Just fried dough, sugar, and a little dignity. So naturally, we decided to gamble on a new spot because nothing says great decision-making like abandoning a known favorite in the pursuit of “maybe.” Enter Churriño Gourmet Dessert, where we were immediately thrown into what I can only describe as a textural identity crisis. These churros were somehow both hard and chewy. Confusion. To put it in perspective, they felt like a nostalgic callback to a 2003 7-Eleven churro...you know, the ones that lived under a heat lamp long enough to develop a backstory. And not even the good kind of nostalgia. Let’s take a respectful pause for the fallen legend: Costco churros. Gone, but never forgotten. Say what you want, but they showed up hot, crispy, dependable. Honestly, they deserved better than this comparison. And that’s really the expectation here. If “churro” is in your name, I’m asking for competence. Maybe even a little joy. Instead, we left with jaws that felt like they’d just completed a CrossFit session. So yeah… do yourself a favor. Skip the philosophical experiment and drive the extra 10 minutes to Churrería El Moro. There, the churros know who they are and more importantly, they don’t fight you on the way down.”

“Awful presentation for an overpriced “gourmet” churro. The biscotti latte taste like dirty water. First and last time. You’ve been warned.”
